The software for Directory Service Migration Utility (DSMU) is not compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000. It is recommended that you uninstall this software before continuing with the upgrade. If you do not uninstall DSMU before continuing, you will not be able to uninstall Gateway Service for NetWare (GSNW) or IPX without first uninstalling DSMU.

If you are currently running Windows 2000 Beta 3 or later,follow these steps to uninstall DSMU:

• Download DelDSM.Exe from the Microsoft Web site.
• Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and click Command Prompt.
• Type DelDSM.Exe.

If you are running a version of Microsoft Windows 2000 earlier than Beta 3 follow these steps to uninstall DSMU:

• Click Start, point to Settings, point to Control Panel, and double-click Add/Remove Programs.
• Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
• Select Dsmigrate to uninstall.
• Manually delete all files from \program files\dsmigrat.
